Product Description
APAR’s Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced Twisted Pair (ACSR/TP) is a specialized overhead conductor comprising two identical bare ACSR conductors twisted together with a controlled left-hand lay. The unique twisted-pair configuration creates a spiral-shaped conductor that significantly improves resistance to aeolian vibration, wind-induced oscillation, and ice galloping.
Designed for transmission and distribution networks operating in challenging environmental conditions, ACSR/TP conductors provide enhanced mechanical stability, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved line reliability while maintaining the proven electrical and mechanical benefits of conventional ACSR conductors. Twisted Pair conductor is most typically built with ACSR component conductors, but is also available with AAC, AAAC, ACAR, TACSR, and ZTACSR component conductors.

Standards & Quality
APAR’s ACSR/TP conductors are manufactured in compliance with relevant international and utility standards governing component conductors, along with ASTM B911.
Each conductor is manufactured through very stringent quality standards, with rigorous testing at every stage including type testing and validation.
Construction & Material
ACSR/TP consists of two identical ACSR conductors twisted around each other using a long lay length configuration.
Each ACSR conductor is constructed from:
- High-conductivity Aluminium 1350-H19 wires
- Galvanized steel core wires
The twisted-pair arrangement creates a spiral conductor geometry that helps disrupt aerodynamic forces acting on the conductor. This significantly reduces the occurrence of aeolian vibration and ice galloping while improving overall line stability under adverse weather conditions.
