Ship & submarine wiring cables

The most important reason for using undersea electrical cables is safety and reliability. APAR’s undersea power cables are specifically designed and built for demanding service applications.

Submarine power cables are designed for various applications, typically offshore wind farms, the oil and gas industry, island connections, static tidal and wave power applications as well as lake and river crossings. Our experienced team offers cable design capabilities to meet the most challenging requirements of interconnection, export and infield (array) submarine cable projects. We offer a whole range of electrical as well as fibre optical cables, and even hybrid cables based on client requirements. Pressure tight cables are also used for different ship marine applications.
Application Standard applications for submarine power cables are connecting mainland areas or cities via water passages. This also applies to mainland-to-island connections. Many of these networks and connections are becoming outdated and need to be overhauled.
Characteristics System voltage: MV/AC U≤33 kV, HV/AC – 30 kV≤U, submarine power cables directly laid in seabeds as deep as 8000 m, no limits on submarine power cables and customisation design available.Selected submarine power cables reach the specified underwater cable system.

Welding cables

Welding cables are typically used because they are flexible and versatile. Benefits that stem from the construction of finer strands of copper and EPDM or neoprene rubber jackets. In fact, these are generally more flexible than electrical wires or power cables.

Depending on the manufacturer, welding cables have a temperature rating of -50℃ – 105℃ and when put to the test, many of these cables withstand exposure to grease, oil, water, cuts, tears and abrasion. These cables are often ideal for installations with exposure to colder weather because of its thinner stranding construction which allows for increased flexibility and usability. While these cables are typically offered in red and black jackets, but can also be found in additional colors including yellow, blue and green, the more durable construction of welding cable is identifiable by its orange jacket.
Application Often used in demanding applications, welding cables are secondary voltage-resistance cables for welding tools or as power cables attached to generators and industrial machinery. For example, electric arc-welding tools typically rely on two separate cables for operation: one acts as the primary power source for the device while the other supplies a secondary power source. While welding cables may not power the generator, these are required for electrodes. Welding cables are ideal for usage in power supply applications where the voltage does not exceed 600 volts.
Characteristics Temperature range: -10°C to + 90°C
Applicable standards IS:9857, BS 638 (Pt 4)
Product range 25 to 300 sq mm
Advantages – Flame retardant, oil resistant, compression cut resistant – Durable; survive rough handling – Fully insulated slender cables – Capable of delivering electricity for the purpose of welding things together

Uninyvin cables

APAR Uninynin cables comprise three unique additional insulation layers.

The copper copper conductor is first tin-platted to prevent oxidisation and make it solderable. Then an insulation of the HR-PVC insulation coat is used, after which, to increase the cable’s fire resistance and mechanical strength, a cover of fibreglass yarn braiding is provided. This is then covered with a secondary nylon yarn thread braiding. And finally, it is lacquered with a nylon varnish coating.
Application These cables are used in battery circuitry where chemical exposure is high. They are also used in UPS systems and server rooms.
Characteristics Uninyvin cables have a much higher current carrying capacity than traditional PVC wires.
Applicable standards IS 9857
Product range ATC/EBXL-HRPVC/Nylon Braid & Lacquer – sizes 0000 to 6 ATC/EBXL-HRPVC/Nylon sheath – sizes 8 to 22
Advantages Uninyvin cables require less copper to facilitate comparable or better current carrying capacity, making them extremely cost-effective. Moreover, they are lighter and more flexible, and therefore, easy to carry as well as install in all sorts of small spaces.
