APAR POWER-ZAD® Conductor is an advanced overhead conductor designed with specially shaped Z-profile aluminium or aluminium alloy strands concentrically stranded over a central core comprising high-conductivity aluminium alloy wires, galvanized steel wires, or aluminium-clad steel wires.

The unique Z-shaped outer strand design creates a smoother conductor surface compared to conventional round-wire conductors, significantly reducing aerodynamic drag, wind-induced vibration, and conductor galloping. This results in improved transmission line reliability, enhanced mechanical performance, and optimized electrical efficiency, especially in regions exposed to harsh climatic conditions.

Each conductor is manufactured through very stringent quality standards, with rigorous testing at every stage including type testing and validation.


Construction & Material

POWER-ZAD® Conductors consist of one or more layers of high-conductivity aluminium or aluminium alloy Z-shaped strands, compatible with conductor types such as AAAC, ACSR, ACSS, and ACCC, concentrically stranded around a central core.

The central core may comprise:

  • High Conductivity Aluminium Alloy Wires
  • Galvanized/Mischmetal Steel Wires
  • Aluminium Clad Steel Wires

The specially designed Z-shaped outer strands interlock to create a smoother and more compact conductor surface. This design minimizes air turbulence around the conductor, reducing aerodynamic drag and conductor motion under wind loading.

Optional high-quality grease filling can be incorporated into the central core to provide enhanced protection against corrosion and environmental exposure.
