Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) is one of the most widely used traditional overhead conductors in power transmission and distribution. It combines the excellent electrical conductivity of stranded aluminium with the high tensile strength of a steel core, providing reliable performance under mechanical loads, environmental stress, and fault conditions.

Construction & Material

ACSR conductors consist of multiple layers of high-conductivity aluminium strands stranded around a central steel core. The steel core provides mechanical strength while the stranded aluminium layers ensure excellent electrical performance.

The combination of aluminium and steel makes ACSR ideal for long spans, high loads, and varying environmental conditions.
